The Center for Creative Inquiry was founded in 2000 to explore alternate forms of knowledge and inquiry and their potential to bring about essential change. Cutting across disciplines, it aims to identify and question basic assumptions and methodological limits, using varied approaches that are interactive, experiential, cooperative, and engaged. It fosters the creation of active communities of inquiry.

CCI offers programs and supports initiatives that further its basic aims. Since its founding, it has organized conferences in organizational change, the future of time, and first-person methodologies. It has sponsored workshops in topics such as embodied knowing, mind in nature, and creative inquiry in the classroom. Many of its programs are held at Ratna Ling Retreat Center, a beautiful facility in the coastal ridges two hours north of San Francisco.
